Dear Ben,
Thanks again for the pin. I got the pinches in the mail today and decided to install it. The installation was very straightforward and quite easy, thanks for your instructions! The pin did not require any filing at all. As for the base, I simply went to the local harware store and grabbed the first short piece of copper tubing that I saw (1 1/4″ in diameter and an inch or so long). It did the job very well, I have set the bolt on top of the tube and let the pin drop through the hole.
Thanks again and happy holidays,
Max

Hello,
I wanted to let you know after receiving the “cure” for my sks, which installed as smooth as glass, I was very pleased with the quality of the parts. My Russian model 45 sks cycled handloads and wolf ammo with no slam firing!
Thanks again for a much needed up grade to the sks.

Ben,
Thank you very much for the new FP for my Yugo. I finally had a chance to take it to the range and it worked flawlessly. To answer your question, yes I was shooting 122gr. Wolf HP black box ammo.
Thanks again for your services.

Hello Ben,
I finally got a chance to get out to the range today and try the new spring loaded firing pin I purchased from you for my SKS. The China Sport ammunition I was using has very soft primers and I was getting slam fires and multi-bursts most of the time and becoming paranoid in the process. After installing the firing pin and spring combination, I had absolutely no slam fires at all out of the 100 shots fired today.
I heartily endorse your product and would recommend it to anyone who owns an SKS. It made a believer out of me.

Mr. Murray,
Just a short note to say thanks for the outstanding job you did on my SKS bolt. Took it out to the range today and it functioned perfectly. Ever since I got the SKS the thought of a slam fire occurring has been in the back of my mind every time I fired the rifle. Now, I ain’t got to worry anymore.
Gave your web site info to both managers of the range and gun shop I use and they said they would make other SKS owners aware of your service.
Once again, thanks for a job well done.

Ben,
I just wanted to write and say “thank you”. The firing pin and spring replacement for the SKS arrived a week ago and was installed in a matter of minutes.
I’m highly impressed by the quality of the milling — no burrs or other problems. It dropped right in and works perfectly. To insure proper function, I very, VERY lightly oiled the pin and channel with CLP, let it soak for a few minutes, and then thoroughly dried both parts. I don’t want any oil in there, but I want to protect both from rust. The teflon from the CLP helps lubricate a little.
When using Wolf ammo with the hard, mil-spec primers, the firing pin indent is infintesimally shallower, presumably due to the resistance of the spring or the slightly different shape of the pin. This had absolutely no effect whatsoever on the actual firing and was noticeable only to the trained eye.
Again, I wanted to say “thanks” for your excellent pin. $37 is a very small price to pay for me to sleep well, assured that slamfires and other such incidents will be much more rare than before. For reference, I’ve never had a slamfire or doubling, but purchased your pin specifically as a preventative measure.
Cheers!

Hey Ben,
I just wanted to let you know that I got my new firing pin in the mail and put it in this afternoon. I haven’t fired the rifle with it in yet, but I know my rifle is safer now. With my old pin, my primers got dimpled just from loading rounds from the magazine. That doesn’t happen anymore.
I really appreciate what you’re doing and I’ll certainly recommend you to anyone I meet who has an SKS.
Thanks again,
David

Hi Ben,
I finally got out to the range & ran about 150 rounds through a 1963 vinatage chinese SKS. It worked fine & no problems.
Group was 3 inches at 100 yards with wolf 123 gr ammo. I can do better with Winchester Whitebox FMJ & open apeture sights.
Additions to the SKS: Trigger work. New hammer, sear spring & polish. Aperture sight on rear is .150 ( I just ordered .050 and .093) to see if this will get group tighter. New ejector spring. I will email back once I install the smaller ap sight with results.
Thanks – Great little device you have.
